“They Began to Remember the Words of Nephi”

This was no ordinary famine. The catastrophe of starvation had extended down to 17 B.C. Thousand had died and the suffering of the people is portrayed on page 199 of volume three of Treasures from the Book of Mormon. The people then began to plead with their leaders to ask Nephi to in turn plead with the Lord and let them have the necessities of life so they could be preserved.
