“The term ‘in the Spirit,’ which is used to indicate how Nephi taught the people, evidently means that Nephi went forth ‘by the power of the Spirit.’ It does not mean Nephi’s body was separated from his spirit; rather it probably means he was protected in his missionary work by the power of the Spirit,” much as the Savior was during His mortal labors (Ludlow, Companion to Your Study of the Book of Mormon, 245; see Luke 4:28–31).
