Nephi continues using formal expressions of mourning to highlight his audience’s dire state. They were curious about who had died; but he demands, “Why will ye die?” (emphasis mine) and accuses them of dying spiritually by following “him who is seeking to hurl away your souls down to everlasting misery and endless wo.”
