These six verses summarize the year (63) following the great conversion of the Lamanites (v. 1). The tables had turned rapidly. The Lamanites were more righteous than the Nephites (v. 1). The Nephites were now rejecting the word of God (v. 2). The Lamanites were going on missions to the Nephites and preaching with the power and authority that had been the trademark of the Nephites (v. 5). The mission of Nephi and Lehi to the land northward (v. 6) was to the Nephites who had migrated earlier (see Alma 63:4–9).
