Helaman has instructed his sons to “remember” the great men for whom they were named. Now he invokes Benjamin, not only for his strong testimony of the Messiah, but also for the covenant that made the people Christians (or, perhaps more properly, “Messiahists”). Helaman thus asks his sons to renew their personal covenant to similarly be Christians, to have a firm commitment to and identification with Yahweh-Messiah’s great mission.
