By the end of the fifty-ninth year, the Nephites had lost most of their territory. However, during the sixtieth year, Moronihah launched a counter-offensive that succeeded, by the sixty-first year, in retaking “half of all their possessions.” Zarahemla, their traditional capital, remained in Lamanite hands.
