“Sanctification Cometh Because of Their Yielding Their Hearts Unto God”
To “yield [our] hearts unto God” is to inquire diligently to know the mind and will of the Almighty; to give way to and follow the impressions of the Spirit; to have no will but God’s will; to have an eye single to the glory of God (see D&C 20:31; D&C 88:67-68; 3 Nephi 27:19-21). Sanctification comes by the power of the Holy Ghost only to those who “overcome by faith” in Jesus Christ (see D&C 76:53)-which is yielding our hearts to him.
