Redaction: At the end of Helaman 2, Mormon looked ahead to his own time, detailed the connections he saw with the land northward, and ended that description with another reference to his own time. As I have argued, he was making an intentional insertion that will become important in discussing the Gadianton robbers of his day. At this point, however, Mormon recognizes that the information has been intrusive, and he explicitly recalls the reader to events of Helaman’s time.
