The Lamanites, under the direction of Coriantumr, attack the Nephites and manage to occupy the city of Zarahemla. Pacumeni, the chief judge, in his attempt to flee before the invading Lamanite armies, is killed by Coriantumr himself. The Lamanites kill or imprison many inhabitants of Zarahemla and begin a march toward the city of Bountiful.
