“And Thus Ended the Account of Alma”

Text: Shiblon’s account ends here, and so does the book of Alma, which covers the times of Alma₂, Helaman₁ the son of Alma₂, and Shiblon, Helaman’s brother. This chapter records that Helaman₂ received possession of plates, and his record begins a new book. The explanation for why he does not simply continue the book of Alma as his father had done appears in that book.
