“The people of Moronihah” has the same structure that has always designated a city’s inhabitants; but there is no city named Moronihah, and this verse quickly corrects the possible erroneous understanding by noting that the correct meaning is the army of Moronihah, Moroni’s son and successor as chief captain (Alma 62:43). Even this military position is lineal.
