Teancum, facing a larger army dug into well-defended cities, does not attack but rather lays a kind of siege. Keeping his army in position, he has them build defenses and await reinforcements. The Lamanite army will become vulnerable only when it emerges from its fortified cities. Teancum awaits that eventuality.
