Teancum found a way to celebrate New Year’s Eve. He took out the old (Amalickiah) and then he awaked his sleeping men to bring in the new, whatever the New Year had to offer (vv. 33–36. See Alma 52:1 for the designation of New Year’s Eve). Teancum was certainly entitled to be called one of the great Nephite warriors (Alma 51:31).
