As discussed under Alma 24:18–19, the original to in the archaic expression “rather than to” will be restored in the critical text. Here in Alma 51:20, the to was omitted from the LDS text beginning with the 1852 edition. The 1858 Wright edition also omitted the to. The first two RLDS editions followed that reading, but the 1908 RLDS edition restored the original to (since 𝓟 read that way).
