“The Voice of the People Came in Favor of the Freemen”

Brant Gardner

The question of the judgment seat is brought to the voice of the people, which operates in favor of the freemen. The king-men, understanding that they lack sufficient numbers to prevail, are silenced; but their acquiescence does not check their desires. It only changes the timing of their action. Mormon records this social tension because it will become even more important.
