The contention over land (v. 26) and the anger of Morianton (v. 30) led to the war between Morianton’s people and Teancum (v. 35). Morianton’s anger led to an example of the precept given above (v. 21)—quarreling and contentions among themselves caused war. Morianton “being a man of much passion” (v. 30) suggests his anger may have been a result of desiring to commit whoredoms, another cause of war, but we don’t know for sure.
