How is it possible that happiness can be found in an atmosphere of war? How can people “be of good cheer” when dealing with calamity? Elder Neal A. Maxwell noted: “Jesus used the same encouraging words when, having healed a paralytic, He did not emphasize the health restored; rather, He said, ‘Be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.’ Like freedom from death, emancipation from error is always a special reason for being of good cheer” (Even As I Am, 100).
