The inspired Moroni was able to stop the Lamanite invasion without the shedding of blood. The Lamanite leaders were afraid to attack because of Moroni’s new preparation and Amalickiah was not there to enrage them for battle (vv. 2, 5, 8–10). The Lamanites had copied from Moroni’s previous preparations (v. 6), but they could not copy his new preparations because they were not inspired of God.
