Again anticipating the moves of the Lamanites, Captain Moroni laid the groundwork for the next defeat of the Lamanites (v. 25). The accompanying figure illustrates his strategy and how it worked. The numbers of the chart are briefly explained there.
The Lamanite leaders, apostate Nephites, inspired their people to be angry which resulted in strength and courage beyond their normal capacities (vv. 43–44). The Nephites were inspired by love of family, freedom, and their God. Thus, they were led by the word of God (vv. 45–46).
