This is a continuation of the explanation of how these people may arrive at faith. God desires that they have faith, therefore “he imparteth his word by angels unto men.” God provides the way through the medium of his word, or his gospel. That gospel comes to us through intermediaries between God and us. Alma is clearly not speaking exclusively of the scriptures, but rather of the principle of revelation. That principle of revelation is the one that provides us with God’s words, but it will not always come to us specifically. There will be times when we must be sufficiently humble to listen, especially if the person to whom we must listen is a little child.
