It is interesting that Alma left his eldest son in Zarahemla to keep the restless and jittery Church united at home. The converts to the apostate doctrines of Korihor were barely back in the Church and Alma had learned from experience that the Church could lose its unity and composure in just a few months. So Alma felt more secure in leaving Helaman in charge of the Church while he was gone. Now Alma wants to tell us more about these rebellious Zoramites.
