“Until… I Verily Believed That They Were True”
We only need speak falsehood for a short time before we begin to believe and practice falsehood. We only need to fabricate slightly over time before it begins to be difficult to remember what the truth really is. In the case of Korihor, as his conscience began to be seared by the proclamation of that which degrades and destroys, presumably his value system and his way of life began to shift in order to be consistent with his beliefs.
