A sure sign of a disciple of Christ is that he or she has learned how to rejoice in the progress of others. It is not only joy in ourselves that constitutes spiritual maturity, but more importantly having joy in the successes of others. John the Beloved stated: “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (3 John 1:4). Emissaries of the Lord have no greater joy than to see those they teach walk in truth. Church leaders have no greater joy than to see their congregants and students walk in truth.
