“They Were a Zealous and Beloved People”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
Some people “have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge” (Romans 10:2). That is, their zeal-excitement, enthusiasm, eagerness—is not refined by the wisdom and judgment that must accompany righteous actions. Others, like the people of Ammon, had a zeal for righteousness, but a zeal that was tempered by common sense and by the quiet peace which whispers that the Lord is pleased.
