Up to this point everything was progressing perfectly, but there seemed to have been some on the outer fringe of the crowd who either didn’t hear what was being said or who were so bitter in their apostate minds that everything they heard was abhorrent to them. The scripture says:
“But there were many among them who would not hear his words; therefore they went their way.”
