This story instills in us the motivation to increase our faith and trust in the Lord. All missionary parents who send their sons and daughters into the mission field understand the feelings of faith and trust that accompany such a sacrifice. We can assume that King Mosiah was given to constant prayer on behalf of his four sons who were laboring such a long time in dangerous territory—but his prayers would have been prayers of faith and hope, for the Lord had promised that his sons would be preserved in safety.
