How did Ammon gain such influence?

Thomas R. Valletta

“Ponder these points as you feel the influence of Ammon’s teachings, his ministry and great example:

“1. The desire of his heart was to bring people to God [Alma 17:29].

“2. He was always a servant, a minister. He was out among the people [Alma 17:25].

“3. He prepared himself by fasting, studying the scriptures, and prayer [Alma 17:2–3].

“4. He went forth believing he could make a difference with the help of God [Alma 17:13].

“5. He anxiously looked for every possible opportunity to serve [Alma 17:29].

“6. He kept all of the commandments [Alma 18:10].

“7. As a result of doing all of these things, he taught with power and authority and established the Church of God [Alma 18:24–19:35]” (Paramore, “They Taught and Did Minister One to Another,” 70).
