Ammon's answer to the question propounded by the king did not satisfy Lamoni's yearning. In spite of Ammon's assurances, he still wondered how Ammon knew all his thoughts. Perhaps Ammon hesitated somewhat in speaking to the king of his prowess with the sling and sword. He did not wish to be thought bragging, and for Ammon to boast to the king of his skill in using them was furthermost from Ammon's desire. The king, seeing that Ammon faltered in his speech, bade him speak boldly: tell me by what power ye slew and smote off the arms of my brethren that scattered my flocks.
