“The Land of Ammonihah”
Reference is to the country immediately surrounding the city of the same name. It lay between the river Sidon and the ocean and was situated in the same region as the cities of Melek, Noah, and Aaron, though the exact location cannot be determined. It was inhabited almost exclusively by the followers of Nehor and was notorious for the wickedness of its inhabitants. The destruction of its chief judge was but a type of the destruction that shortly awaited all the inhabitants of the city (see Alma 16), and, for that matter, that eventually awaits all who drink of the same cup.
