We later learn that the outrageous acts of the leaders of Ammonihah included not only the chief judge and rulers of the city but lawyers, priests of Nehor's church and teachers of Nehor's beliefs. The cruel and cowardly brutality of these men was greatly magnified by the fact that Amulek was not only one of their former prominent citizens but Alma was the chief judge of the whole land, he was the president of the Church, and had been the commander in chief of all the Nephite armies.
