What is the “day of salvation”?

Thomas R. Valletta

“In one sense, reference is to the day of the Savior’s birth. In another sense, to say that ‘the day of salvation draweth nigh’ is to lay stress upon the importance of preparing in this life for death, that ‘night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed’ (Alma 34:33; compare JST, Luke 12:41–44)” (McConkie and Millet, Doctrinal Commentary, 3:104–5).
