This verse is the epitome of Alma's exhortations to the Ammonihahites. It expresses in a few words the sum and substance of his missionary message, or a brief statement which represents the whole of his divinely inspired errand and the tidings he and Amulek bore. "That ye may also enter into that rest," into which the righteous of every people have entered, was the reward offered those who humbled themselves and truly repented of their transgressions.
