“I Would Cite Your Minds Forward… That Ye Should Remember”
That is, I would call your attention to an earlier time, even to the very beginning, “when the Lord God” gave these commandments “unto his children.” In a similar vein Moses challenged the children of Israel to “remember the days of old,” to “consider the years of many generations.” Ask your fathers, Moses was saying, or your elders, for they will remember that such things were once taught (see Deuteronomy 32:7).
