... Alma now closed his sermon, to take it up again in the next chapter, with an appeal to the people of Ammonihah to prepare themselves to enter into the rest of the Lord. Do not harden your hearts against His Word that therein you become servants of evil, and bring down upon you the wrath of Him who is mighty to save. As you see, Alma reminded them, death of the mortal body came upon man through disobedience to God's Laws; do not provoke Him by further disobedience to send upon you a second death which is the "everlasting destruction of your souls," from which there can be no redemption made. Alma thus concluded.
