Alma does not mince his words to Zeezrom as he establishes what Amulek said, and adds to it (v. 1). Alma confirmed that Zeezrom lied to Amulek and lied unto God (v. 3), or as Amulek said: “lied before God” (Alma 9:25). He also bore testimony that God knows all the thoughts of man and will reveal them unto his servants by his Spirit (v. 3). Amulek perceived the thoughts of the lawyers (Alma 10:17). The third confirmation of Amulek’s teaching by Alma was that the lawyers plan was really the plan of the devil (Alma 12:4–5), and the devil’s purpose was to chain this people to everlasting destruction and captivity (v. 6). Amulek called Zeezrom a “child of hell” (Alma 11:23), and Mormon, as he abridged the record, acknowledged that Zeezrom “was expert in the devices of the devil” (Alma 11:2). All of these allegations were heard by the people of Ammonihah (Alma 12:2; see also Alma 10:1, 12).
