“The Bar of Christ the Son, and God Father, and the Holy Spirit, Which is One Eternal God”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

The scripture teach that the Father has committed all judgment unto the Son (John 5:22) and that the keeper of the gate of judgment is Christ, the Holy One of Israel, that he employs no servant there (2 Nephi 9:41).

Are we then judged by Christ or by the members of the Godhead? Paul wrote, speaking of the Savior, that “in him. dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily” (Colossians 2:9).That is to say, in Christ is to be found the justice and judgment and mercy and grace and power of the other members of the eternas Presidency.

He is the embodiment of their mind, will, and power. What he says or does is what they would have said or done under similar circumstances, Thus this passage means simply that “Christ’s judicial decisions are those of the other two members of the Godhead because all three are perfectly united as one.” (Promised Messiah, pp. 215-16.)

We are judged by Jesus Christ, who is the representation of the Father and of the Holy Ghost. See Commentary 1:243-44.
