For a moment, Zeezrom believes he has caught Amulek in a contradiction, as if Amulek has imposed upon God an edict that He will not be able to save His people. In fact, Amulek speaks the truth, for God cannot save people in their sins. There is only one way to gain exaltation: through the grace of God and obedience to the gospel principles and ordinances (see 2 Nephi 25:23). We must repent. Allowance is made for the sinner who repents but not for the sin (see D&C 1:31–33).
