“Being Weighed Down with Sorrow”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
There are few pains as poignant to the righteous servant of God as that which comes through being prevented from sharing the truths of the gospel. Alma has known the instability of a double-minded life, has felt the pangs of conscience which follow in the wake of sin not repented of, has lived through the achings and agonies of unrealized potential. He also knows the gladness of remitted sin, the unspeakable joy of restoration to righteousness, the peace of partaking of Christ’s redeeming love. He knows the power and majesty of the Almighty to deliver one from bitter darkness into the marvelous light of Christ. He has been born again and desires the same for all people.
