It is not altogether clear what is meant by teaching “according to the holy order of God…” Alma was a priest after that holy order, and so he preaches the gospel as a priesthood holder. Whether this phrase is meant to emphasize the authority of the preaching, or perhaps the orthodoxy of the teaching is not clear. What is clear is that he does teach in the land of Melek, and while Mormon will note it, it is not the interesting part of this journey for Mormon. The reference to the mission in Melek will be short.
