Where does serving Satan lead?

Thomas R. Valletta

“Those who do not live the gospel are servants of sin; when they accept the gospel and yield themselves to the cause of righteousness, their sins are forgiven through baptism, and they become the servants of righteousness.

“The fruit of sin is spiritual death.

“The fruit of righteousness is everlasting life.

“‘Every man receiveth wages of him whom he listeth to obey.’ (Alma 3:27.) Satan pays his servants with death, spiritual death, death as pertaining to the things of righteousness; Christ rewards those who serve him with life, spiritual life, eternal life, life in the presence of God, enjoying and possessing all that Deity himself has” (McConkie, Doctrinal New Testament Commentary, 2:251).
