The testimony of the prophets of all ages is that God has invited “all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile’ (2 Nephi 26:33; see Commentary 1:311-12). All who have inherited death by Adam’s fall can have the promise of salvation through Christ’s atonement.”
“He Sendeth an Invitation Unto All Men”
From Adam to the last person to be born on this mortal earth, none will be left without the opportunity to hear the gospel of salvation. True, many will depart this life without having had that chance; yet in the providence of a just God that opportunity will be offered them in the world of spirits before the day of judgment and resurrection. To all such the gospel will be taught as it would have been taught them on earth. Those in the world of spirits who, if they had had the opportunity, would have accepted the gospel in mortality and lived its principles with integrity will do so there, and no blessings given to the righteous will be lost to them (see D&C 137). Any theology that fails to attest to this principle is unworthy of a just and loving God.
