“Alma Saw the Wickedness of the Church”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

The conditions described here are opposite to the ideals of Zion. They represent a violation and an abrogation of the law of the celestial kingdom, which all covenant communities must learn to live. We sometimes see these problems in the missions of the Church today. Because of pride, scorn, contention, envy, inequality, and sin among the members, the investigators have a hard time believing in the Church. Because of some members’ behavior and attitudes, some nonmembers are led on “from one piece of iniquity to another,” and the Church begins to fail in its mission and its progress.
