All are considered important in the community of the Lord. Each person is responsible for seeking the Spirit in the learning process, where both teacher and learner are edified in the experience—one is not above the other. We grow together. Each labors faithfully according to his or her role. Teachers are to speak by the Spirit, while learners are to use their ears, minds, and hearts in humility, being “easy to be entreated” (Alma 7:23), so that they might understand and feel the Spirit and thereby know that what is being said is true. Thus both are edified, for it is done in the Spirit of truth (see D&C 50:17–22).
