The idea that “all the people will be saved” in one sense is a satanic doctrine because it diminishes people’s desire to do what is right for the right reasons. The notion spawns an attitude of spiritual carelessness—go ahead and do whatever your heart, your body, or your mind wants you to do; go ahead and enjoy the pleasures of sin, because God loves us and will eventually overlook our sins and save us all (see commentary at 2 Nephi 28:1–8). We see this philosophy promoted in modern times.
