The Lord now confirmed to Alma what the prophets have always testified: that He is the Maker of all and the Creator of man. To save His wonderful works from the powers of evil who constantly sought their destruction, the Lord paid any claim sin imposed upon mortal man. He paid the price demanded. That price was the shedding of His blood, and thus He redeemed all mankind from the effects of sin, and the penalty of death.
Those who are faithful and believe in Him to the end, that is, all who keep His commandments throughout their whole lives, shall be granted "a place eternally at my right hand."
The expression, right hand, is used throughout the Bible and the Book of Mormon, and means the power of God, (See 1 Sam. 5:6-7) or the place reserved for the righteous. Other passages found in the Book of Mormon in which these words are used, are found on page 80 of this COMMENTARY.
