Latter-day Saint scholar Neal E. Lambert employed this verse to show that Alma “was a man of great meekness and devotion, always mindful of doing the right thing, ‘for he feared that he should do wrong in the sight of God’ (Mosiah 26:13). He was mighty in prayer, pouring out ‘his whole soul to God’ regarding the Church and those around him (Mosiah 26:14). In a time of family crisis, too, he gathered his associates around him to fast and to pray, seeking the Lord’s help in behalf of his son Alma (Mosiah 27:22). He sought and acted upon the mind and will of the Lord in all things” (Largey, Book of Mormon Reference Companion, 34–35).
