Alma was concerned about what to do with the divisiveness in the Church. “After he had poured out his whole soul to God, the voice of the Lord came to him.” The same can happen to us if we need and really want revelation: we pour out our whole souls to God, and then the voice of the Lord may come to us, too.

The Lord reassured Alma and pronounced blessings on him, including a covenant that he would be sealed up to eternal life.
