When Mosiah had finished speaking to the people, he requested Alma to speak also. Together they addressed the large number of Mosiah's subjects on such subjects as they deemed necessary. Alma went from one multitude to another, preaching faith and repentance in the Lord.
Especially did Alma exhort Limhi and his people to remember that by the power of God, alone, were they delivered from the yoke of bondage which the Lamanites had fastened upon them. He reminded them that much of their own strength had been lost in their repeated but unsuccessful rebellions in which the Lamanites had slain many of their brethren. He told them that freedom from woe and affliction was not to be gained by any force, they, themselves, brought to bear, nor was it to be attained by the cunning of their wise men, but it was to be obtained only through the direct interposition of the Lord, the Mighty One who dwells On High.
