Limhi’s people gathered their flocks and herds and fled past drunken guards. Alma’s people experienced a more direct miracle. They also gathered their flocks and herds, but they escaped past sleeping Lamanites who were not awakened by the noise that so many people and animals surely created.
Perhaps Mormon is suggesting that their greater faithfulness permitted a greater miracle on their behalf.
