How can we best handle trials?

Thomas R. Valletta

“When you’re experiencing a severe trial, ask yourself this question: ‘Am I trying to do what the Lord would have me do?’ If you’re not, then adjust your course. But if you are, remember the boy outside the walls of Jerusalem who turned to his brothers and said, ‘I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them’ (1 Nephi 3:7.)” (Eyring, To Draw Closer to God, 86).
